He may only be the drummer behind Fleet Foxes, but don't count out J. Tillman just yet. The native Seattle singer has been performing and putting out his own solo albums since 2004 and has also toured the US and Europe extensively with the likes of David Bazan, Damien Jurado, and Jesse Sykes. And now with Fleet Foxes getting more popular by the minute, Tillman is due to get more recognition with the release of his newest album,
Vacilando Territory Blues. Featuring Tillman's solemn folk vocals, this album will resonate well with fans of Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, and Damien Jurado. There are some standout tracks (see below), but mostly it's hard to tell where one song ends and the next begins. People will undoubtedly try to compare Tillman
to Fleet Foxes, but only one of them does the folk genre justice. It's not that Tillman is awful, but a little bit of variety on an album of thirteen tracks goes a long way.

Fact Check: he was also affiliated with the excellent Crystal Skulls. I believe they were on Suicide Squeeze.
