Happy Halloween! Now let's get down to business. Indietronic trio, +/-, have returned to the scene after a two year break with their new album,
Xs On Your Eyes. The band has certainly found ways to keep busy over the past two years though, with drummer Chris Deaner touring as a member of Kelly Clarkson's band. Thankfully, the three were able to regroup and have released a fairly solid effort. Starting off slow with opener, "Tired Eyes," the track soon builds to crashing drums and pulsating guitars. "Snowblind" follows with glitchy sound effects and a strong guitar melody that holds the weight of the song. As interesting as some of the tracks are on
Xs On Your Eyes, one complaint I had early on was the fact that +/- have a penchant for sounding like a Death Cab Nada Surf hybrid (now with more electronic noises!), and that trend tires after hearing it for half the album. +/- are a decent band, but they'd be even better if they took more chances and didn't settle for a middle-of-the-road indie rock sound.

stop using sendspace because there is a max number of downloads one can do. Mediafire has no limit
I used to use mediafire, but it keeps making my firefox browser crash whenever I try and upload an album. Sorry, but sendspace it is, for now at least.

One thing that gets me about +/- is their predicatability. They are one of my favorite bands, however what...two minutes into Tired Eyes I knew that they were going to come crashing in.
What they lose in predicability I think they make up for with their use of sound. Although song structure usually does what you think it will, the guitars, drums, bass, and whatever else is usually put together is some surprising fashion.
And how did you not pick Marina as one of the highlights, if not the highlight of the album?
