Eulogies - Here Anonymous

On the surface, Eulogies appear to your average, Los Angeles-based indie rock quartet. But smart lyrics and great pop hooks are what save this band from being terminally written off, especially on their new album, Here Anonymous. From the bright opening chords of "Day To Day," to the harmonizing on "Eyes On The Prize," to the chiming riffs of "Out Of Character," Eulogies may not be bringing anything new to the table, but that doesn't mean that their music isn't instantly memorable. Sometimes a band needs to leave their crazy effects and overreaching attempts to sound different at home and just do what they do best: write simple and catchy songs. Co-produced by fellow Dangerbird labelmate Hrishikesh Hirway (The One A.M. Radio), Here Anonymous is confident follow-up to Eulogies' 2007 self-titled debut, with strong pop leanings and singer Peter Walker's excellent croon. If you're looking for a new band to latch onto, give Eulogies a listen.
