Think About Life - Family

Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. Also a serious lack of decent album leaks might have been a factor as well. Regardless, I'm back and will be bringing you the best leaks all summer long. Montreal's Think About Life recently released Family, their second album, which sounds a lot different from their 2006 self-titled debut. On Family, singer Martin Cesar's Prince-esque vocals are accentuated with funk drum fills, a huge-sounding horn section, and jazzy rhythm guitar riffs. This is the indie dance album that you never thought a stereotypical Canadian indie rock band like Think About Life would ever make. Nevertheless, they have, and it's pretty fucking great. High-pitched vocals compliment Cesar's voice perfectly on your new favorite party song, "Havin' My Baby," while "Sweet Sixteen" sweetly recalls tales of awkward teenage loving, and "Set You On Fire" keeps the dance party going with vocoder vocals, bouncy bass lines, and white-hot synths. Take a chance on an underrated band and download Family; it's easily one of the best dance albums of the summer.

You should blog about this new Dinosaur Jr. next.
Curious to hear your thoughts.
