Although The Cool Kids'
Bake Sale EP only contains three new songs from the Chicago hip-hop duo, there's no reason to count these Kids out. Compiling all of the songs from their
Totally Flossed Out EP, this new EP functions as their first official release and is currently available on iTunes and in stores on June 10th. The newer songs are what initially drew me to this EP, but it's The Cool Kids classic tracks that I've heard them perform live time and time again that are what stuck with me. Songs like "88," "What It Is," and "Gold and a Pager" have new life breathed into them on this EP, having been fully mixed and mastered to Chocolate Industries standards. Overall,
The Bake Sale EP serves as a solid introduction to The Cool Kids and the next generation of hip-hop that they're currently serving up. Be sure to check out their debut full length,
When Fish Ride Bicycles, due for release in the fall.

aaaahhh, its censored.
wow.
wow.
hopefully the uncensored version
will leak soon.
There is no "uncensored" version. This is the only version, the faux-censoring is deliberate. If that was the case, the N-word would be censored too.
Hell, listen to a Lupe Fiasco CD. It's the same thing...only he admits he doesn't swear.
I could be wrong though.
yeah, the cursing version would be awesome. what about a better bitrate? anyone see that out there?
the "n word" is censored in this, if you knew the first line to "88",
you would have noticed. that word as well as a few others are conspicuously missing from this version (at least when i downloaded it!).
i got the album from itunes instead and it isn't censored at all.
in "bassment party" it doesn't say "ass" in the fergie reference in the song, which was a major indication of censorship. it is supposed to.
yeah.
phenomenal album.
Ah. Well, I had already downloaded it from somewhere else before seeing the post here - I was unaware there was actually an edited version.
In the version I have, the first track "What Up Man" has a blatant edit of "shit" in the chorus, but that just seems too deliberate (again, like Lupe Fiasco). In the few other tracks with swearing, it's not edited. Whatever, I'm not going to kill myself over a couple naughty words...it leaves more to the imagination.
yo yo anna
cool ep, thax
by the way, have you dominique leone's debut lp? or dan friel's "ghost town"?
i'm looking and looking, and i can't found them.
bye!
Hi Anna,
Just heard this austrailian guy Guy Blackman's, feat. none other than Jens Lekman, new single over at pitchfork. His album Adult Baby is supposedly very cool. You don't happen to have a link, do you????
thanks
