Delorean - Subiza

Last year, Delorean surfaced at the perfect time with their dance-friendly Ayrton Senna EP, providing a great soundtrack for the last few weeks of summer. This year, they're back again with a new full length album, Subiza. Picking up right where they left off with swirling synth-pop, Subiza proves that Delorean have real staying power. Woozy echoed vocals start the album off with "Stay Close," and each track builds on that, from the bursts of club beats on "Real Love" to the glitchy shuffle of "Infinite Desert," as Subiza keeps the listener on their toes and avoids falling into a repetitive rut that so many dance bands have trouble avoiding. Although this album may not be as immediately appealing as Delorean's EP was, it's definitely worth taking the time to let it grow on you. Subiza is certainly an indication of a band that has a promising career ahead of them.
