Although this album leaked several weeks ago, I sort of let it get buried on my desktop amidst all the other leaks that had surfaced at the same time. Well, no longer. Swan Lake is, as most of you know, the indie supergroup consisting of Carey Mercer from Frog Eyes, Spencer Krug from Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown, and Dan Bejar from Destroyer/The New Pornographers. Phew, that's an awful lot of bands.
Enemy Mine is their follow-up album to 2006's
Beast Moans and is due for release on March 24th. Featuring three songs sung by each of the aforementioned gentlemen, it's easy to figure out which songs you'll like the best based on which musician you prefer. Personally, Carey Mercer's voice annoys the shit out of me, I'm a huge Spencer Krug fan, and I love Bejar too, all of which makes sense since Krug and Bejar's songs were my favorites on the album. Krug's tracks are slightly reminiscent of Wolf Parade, with skittering guitars and bouncy keys ("Settle On Your Skin" in particular). Bejar's signature woozy vocals are the real highlight of his contributions, from "Heartswarm" to "Ballad of a Swan Lake, Or, Daniel’s Song." If you're a fan of any of these accomplished musicians, you definitely owe it to yourself to check out
Enemy Mine to hear how each of their excellent songs fit together to form a great album.

awww mann!! so excited for this, but the .zip file is only 22 bytes. that can't be right?!
Link fixed!
Are you interviewing Swan Lake for TMT? That would be a fun interview, except Mercer scares me.
Anyways, I'm surprised that you can't stand Mercer's voice. Mercer and Krug go together very well, especially when Krugs joins in on Frog Eyes.
sweet. love this album.
also, grizzly bear's veckatimest leaked last night. have you heard it yet?
