Title Tracks - It Was Easy

Title Tracks is a new project from John Davis, formally of Q And Not U and Georgie James. Leaning a bit more to the jangly pop side of the latter rather than the angular post-punk of the former, Title Tracks is still a worthwhile download for all fans of Davis' past work. Due out on February 9th, It Was Easy may have a pop undercurrent running throughout its twelve tracks, but Davis also utilizes saxophone and reggae-esque guitar upstrokes ("No, Girl"), subtle folk melodies ("Black Bubblegum"), and emotional balladry ("At Fifteen") to add some variety to his sound. Title tracks may not grab your attention as immediately as Georgie James or Q And Not U did, but Davis is an excellent songwriter and It Was Easy proves that he can truly hold his own.
