It's been a few years since we last heard from Band of Horses when their second full length,
Cease To Begin, was released in 2007. On their latest album,
Infinite Arms, due out on May 18, the quintet fill out their alt-country sound with various accoutrements, including strings and horns ("Factory"), muddled guitars ("Compliments"), and what definitely sounds like a sitar ("Trudy"). Despite the different instrumentation,
Infinite Arms is very much a Band of Horses record, right down to Ben Bridwell's pleading vocals and the catchy choruses--especially on "Laredo" and "Dilly." It's clear that their move from Seattle to South Carolina has also had an impact on the group, as their album comes off slow and steady, focusing more on their alt-country side instead of their rock side, unlike their two previous albums.
Infinite Arms may not be their most cohesive album to date, but longtime fans will definitely take a shine to it.

this and national are both really low quality in sound, not doing them justice
@james -- it's free, dinkbutt. If you like it enough to complain about sound quality, then buy it.
