Team Band - I Don't Speak British: Team Band plays the music of Jens Lekman

Team Band are a local Chicago band that are typically described as a cross between Art Brut and Les Savy Fav getting drunk and/or getting into a fight together. Basically the last band ever that you would imagine covering a bunch of Jens Lekman songs and releasing an EP of them. Surprisingly, that's just what they decided to do. However, instead of trying to sound exactly like Lekman, Team Band stick with the brash punk that they're known for. Intrigued? You should be. "A Sweet Summers Night On Hammer Hill" is transformed into a riotous, fist-pumping affair, while "Black Cab" has slick power chords and a battle cry of "Turn the music up and keep your mouth shut," and "Your Arms Around Me" becomes the most sincere punk rock love song you've ever heard. While some fans may prefer Lekman himself, it's always fun to hear others try their own spin on his classic songs.
